If you wish to trade grains, you should be familiar with the markets. You are trading against guys who have a research department at their disposal.

Otherwise trading grains is like trading anything else.

However, grains are not particularly suited for daytrading:

The opening hours cannot be compared to those of financial futures. There is a (rare) risk that you will find yourself locked in a position limit up or limit down. Also some of the grains are not among the most liquid futures.

May I suggest the obvious choice, aptly named:

Day Trading Grain Futures, by David Bennett

Amazon.com: Day Trading Grain Futures: A practical guide to trading for a living (Na) eBook: David Bennett: Kindle Store

It's a quick read, but fundamentally sound and could be easily applied/modded to fit your own style.

Requires quite a bit of time to go through...but a good education...

Technical Analysis by Jack Schweger

Fundamental Analysis by Jack Schweger

I think both are published 1995.

I am quite fond of:
https://www.amazon.com/Commodities-Commodity-Derivatives-Modelling-Agriculturals/dp/0470012188/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1412424038&sr=8-2&keywords=commodity+and+commodity+derivatives

of course it is not specific to day trading.
