Hi guys
i live in Australia trying to live trade but it's tough to work into daily life due to time zones

Just wondering what markets can be traded after US markets hours, that actually move,
i know they are all available to trade but it's like watching paint dry,,

are there any, even currencies or commodities if it comes to that,

just asking, i'm sure there are many others in my situation

cheers angelo

Hi @Angelo1,

I've followed Mack's work for a few years now and eventually settled on the 6E.

288 Tick chart is pretty close for me although it has it's own personality. 4-9 pm our time offers plenty of opportunities too.

Hope this helps.

Hi Justin

thanks for the reply,
just loaded the 288 tick chart yesterday was a big chart bar wise is that normal or was it an exception,, given u have been watching it for a while, when u say it's the same do you mean the same as a 5min 6E chart?

Do u use the same ATM ie 4 tick profit + 8 tick SL etc for the 6E?

Cheers Angelo,

Hi @Angelo1,

Yesterday had more volume than usual off of the back of EU rate decision etc. and I prefer to avoid these and concentrate on London pre-open up until UK midday usually.

My perception is that the 288 gets me close to the ES 2000 in structure and opportunity while keeping me out of the chop that a smaller count would print. The 6E can be far more volatile than the ES though but I find that the UK session is more manageable for my approach and time zone.

After using Mack's settings and approach I found that using @welly192 approach with entries using limits only and a 5 stop, 4 target suits me more. I found that I struggled with larger stops and longer trade times although am still fine tuning my method.

Hope this helps.

Justin

It sucks being a futures trader in Australia ES, GC and CL are most active while we are asleep. Personally my favorite is the SPI but it's probably not the best option for an after work trader. Have you looked at the FTSE 100 Futures, it seems to be very popular for Aussie traders that work full time. The DAX seems pretty popular as well.

My trading is a bit different to the PAT's method. A lot of my trades are based on what I see in the DOM. I do also have some quantitative trend following strategy's I use as well. But I still do keep an eye on some of the PAT's journals on here from time to time.
