OK, all you young online gamers.

...someone guide an old man in the right direction for a mic / headphone combo rig to use on Skype while trading.

My office has paper thin walls and I don't want the neighbors thinking I'm nuts talking to myself and also, I can
speak more softly .

grazie

I have Audio-Technica that are sound blocking for when I travel and use a great mic off of my logitech camera, works for me.
But I would get the Sennheiser next time. My son was a professional gamer and that's what his team used. Very comfortable with great sound.

One word of warning, do not get anything Razer in headphones. All my years of computing and they have been by far the worst customer support for any product I have bought and they outright lie about hardware issues(personal experience).

Well, I don't fit either of the two specifications but beware sealed headphones, otherwise you will tend to speak louder than you realise and be oblivious to it. Open back Sennheiser's or similar are a good idea to limit the effect. For Skype quite cheap types are usually fine these days.

tderrick,

in my opinion you should look for something with less weight and comfortable.
The huge gamer headsets seem like an overkill to me. Unless you want to play games with it of course and are looking for this advantage when you are able to hear the enemies footsteps slightly earlier or better .
I have used the Logitech G330 for years and am still very happy with it. However it goes for about $100 nowadays and I have spent about half of it four years ago. At this price I would avoid it, but personally I would go for a similar design again.

Regards,
ABCTG
