Hey guys I noticed that if you get the single broker limited list for Ninjatrader, they only support the following brokers:

continuum
cqg
fxcm futures only
gain capital
ib
mbtrading
patsystems
rithmic
td ameritrade
trading technologies
vision financial markets

Are any of these acceptable or should I upgrade to the full list in order to get a better broker? My primary instrument is ES. The multibroker is 900 and the single broker is 600 a year.

I don't understand "upgrade to the full list". The difference between single broker and multi broker NinjaTrader, is one allows only a single broker connection, and the other allows multiple broker connections.

And you should buy it, not lease it, if you plan to use it for more than a year.

Mike

@elitetradernyc

Use Optimus Futures (uses Vision connector, the owner is helpful and a member on the forum), MB Trading, or Interactive Brokers.

Technically speaking that list is for technology providers, not brokers per say.

For example, Rithmic is a data feed technology made available to traders by a long list of different brokers, Optimus being one broker through which you can connect to the Rithmic data feed.

Here is a more complete list of brokers that support NinjaTrader... https://ninjatrader.com/Ecosystem/Broker.php

Out of your technology list, the "best" (unfiltered and stable) data feed technologies (IMHO) are: TT, Rithmic and Continuum

A lot of time and sales (order flow) traders like TT and CQG. TT is expensive and CQG has well documented connection stability issues.

IB and others on your technology list are filtered data feed's and as such are not suitable for time and sales (order flow based) indicators or chart types.

Another approach to this are the non-broker affiliated unfiltered data stream services such as Kinetic and IQ Feed (DTNiQ).

With a Single Broker License you can connect to one broker and technology, which you would specify when you lease or purchase your license from NT. You can change that at any time, but need to make that request to NinjaTrader support and they will issue you a new license for the different technology. This should be adequate if you plan on using a single futures account. With a Multi-Broker License you can connect to any combination of brokers and technologies simultaneously.

Be Patient and Trade Smart

Thank you for that!

I just when through this with NT. Technically speaking a NT "Multi-Broker" license is not really multi-broker but a multi-technology license. For example you cannot connect with two different brokers using Rithmic technology, or connect with two different brokers using Continuum and CQG or Rithmic and Vision (same technology).

but you can have the same broker connect to different accounts (same brokerage) while using different feeds. For example use Rithmic for CME and Continuum for Eurex.
