Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and glad to be here. My name is Tariq and I work for a small trading group at the NYMEX in New York. I've recently started using NinjaTrader to develop automated systems but have found many drawbacks with it manipulating historical data such as exiting before entry and multiple timeframe issues and am now looking at MultiCharts. I have somewhat of a programming background, so the learning curve for me with NinjaTrader was not too steep (however, I once tried using TT's API for X_Trader and that was beyond me). However, I'm confused if I need to write things in MultiCharts in EasyLanguage. In this case, there are no class declarations, etc., and I also didn't see methods defined as usual in C#.

I'd heard of EasyLanguage in other posts here but am not familiar with it. Are PowerLanguage and EasyLanguage the same thing? If so, then any strategy I develop in MultiCharts will be in EasyLanguage?

Thanks

albazzaztariq,

EasyLanguage is Tradestation's programming language and Powerlanguage is the Multicharts programming language (same syntax only some more reserved words that make use of the Multicharts potential). Multicharts is Easylanguage friendly, meaning it is able to understand > 99% of it. Having said this you can use the Tradestation documents for Easylanguage to find your way around in Multicharts programming.

Regards,
ABCTG

Thank you. I'll look into that.
