Fresh off Big Mike's Afternoon webinar and an inspired NY resolution to buckle down and organize my trading efforts, I was hit with the Mirus fiasco. We'll call that a slight bump in the road and get started next week hopefully. I have started the process at Optimus and will see how long that takes to get up and running, as a backup I am testing the waters with the Mirus/Continuum fix but it hasnt been converted yet.
I am fortunate to have a dayjob that pays the bills so this is a side labor of love, which will turn into the main gig one day. This leaves me with just the open session four or so days a week and I will stop as the lunch hour arrives.
I have been doing this a long time and have run through the laundry list of 'things NOT to do' so I am anticipating a better experience this go round and a quick chiding if i stray. I have picked up most of the methodology I use over the years at random places not to be named, but I love the nature of nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) in that it focuses on the important aspects of this business (read: no constant indicator tweaking). I will be using Mike's 2for2 rule and if changes are to be made I anticipate removing things as opposed to adding.
Below is the chart for today, with entries that I would have ideally taken. I dont even have a live feed for SIM at the moment due to the data snafu so I'll just markup afterhours until I can get a datastream. I have enjoyed Fat Tails indicators and find them to be extremely helpful reference points. I am trying to keep it simple and look to rejoin the trend after pullbacks. Due to the 2.5 hour trading frame I have open to me, and the general lack of patience I constantly battle, I fare much better with shorter targets and hold times.
I dont find much reward in discussing what I would have done, so I will cut it short until some actual trading takes place. I will close with a couple of goals for this journal.
1) Focus on the execution moreso than the method
2) Record reasoning behind every entry/exit
3) No tweaking indicators - Accept responsibility for results
Huge thank you to Big Mike for these tidbits, something I needed to hear as I plan to take the next step.
