Just dropping in to say howzit from Auckland,New Zealand! I have been trading the currency markets for over a year now(part time). The biggest issue for me is trying to find a reputable broker. Not a easy task! I am very interested to learn to scalp the markets as I enjoy the thrill and fear factor involved with short term trading(Yes, i'm well aware it's very risky) I usually stick to the 4 hour and daily charts and I mostly look at price action and support and resistance lines for trades..

If anyone is keen to share scalping trading ideas and broker recommendations...please do.

I am also looking at learning to trade the futures markets because from what I hear it's more regulated than the forex market and there are no bucket shops like you get in the forex world!

Could someone please tell me where i can learn to trade the emini S&P 500 market? What threads on futures.io (formerly BMT) will be helpful and are forex(scalping) strategies transferable to the futures market?

Keep well and thank you.

I am a newbie too....If trying to get my head around the trading. I have started going through the books and read the post on this forum. I am watching some videos from OTA.

While reading the posts, I have got the idea that Forex trading is the best for beginners? is that true?

What is the reason you are moving from Forex to other instruments.

A disussion with help me in understanding these issues.

Thanks

Widely believed simply because it's possible to get far more leverage in forex, but that actually just makes it more dangerous unless you get your money management sorted out pronto. I would suggest using sim or the micro M6E type contracts to get a feel if you go the forex route.

What if I don't rely on leverage....is Forex still good to start with? How to figure this out? Very confused.

Mike...Thanks for the reply. I am going to listen that webinar. I checked the webinar sections and there are tons of trainings. Is there a thread which shows in what sequence a beginner listens to those video trainings?

Hi,

I have been trading Futures, Options as well as Forex for many years for proprietary trading firms.

If you want to learn more about the Futures markets we can meet up and I can show you how we approach trading futures?

I am also based in Auckland, NZ.

We can also discuss brokers and the S&P 500 contract.

Hi FuturesTradernz,

Yea, I would be really interested to meet up and get some advice from you on forex and futures trading, and to chat to a pro trader I live in Auckland city close Albert park. Not sure how we can go about this because I can't send a PM to you yet.

Let me know when and where you would like to meet and we can make a plan?

Thanks for getting in touch. I look forward to catching up with you.

Cheers, Jac
