Hi I'm just wondering if anyone have tried trading after work during this period from 6pm-11:30pm (eastern time). Are there products(futures/forex/Nikkei?) that you think is worth trading during this period. Or do you think it might be too slow? I only swing trade but want to get my feet wet day trading after work, if there's good opportunity. Thanks.

Honestly the SPI is like watching paint dry nowadays...but yeah still works on IB breakouts/Gaps and fades at levels...its correlated to the rest of Asia, mostly the Seng/China.
The NK opens at 7 pm your time i think, the Kospi is 8 pm, the Hang Seng is 9:15 pm....Also you could trade the 6A or the 6J.
I also would caution against such a thing. I would say it is better to work on continuing your swing trading in that scenario instead of trying to force something like day trading at that part of the day after working all day.
You can do a lot of swing analysis on weekends, enter new trades, and manage them on lunch hour as needed.
I did this 18 years ago when working a full time job, I would call into the automated e-trade phone system and tell it my orders (cutting edge back then), then use my laptop on lunch break to get quotes and make adjustments as needed. Worked quite well for a long time.
I guess it's probably tiring day trading after work, but what if I just use a sniping strategy or just make 1 trade per night? Is this okay then? I'm trying to figure out what time frame to use as well.
I would first examine "why" you are asking this question.
- Do you desire more "action"? Then you're a gambler.
- Do you need to trade more because your account is not growing fast enough and you need to make more money more quickly? Then you are trying to force the market to give you money, or you are trading scared.
Honestly, no time is a good time to trade if you do not have a system with a statistical edge in that market and a trade plan to exploit that edge during those hours. Otherwise, just go live your life in some other rewarding way.
