I was hoping someone with more advanced programming skills could provide an answer, or even better, some code for a strategy I have been working on. When manually trading, I use range bars, when my criteria is true for an entry, I look to my trade chart and place a buy stop a tick above the projected high/or low shown on my chart by the JT_rangemarker.

For example: I have my trade chart, and a HTF chart for reference. When the criteria is met for a long on both of my charts, I look at my trade chart and if for example the price of the projected high is 3000.00 I will place a buy limit at 3000.25, if it hits the price, I am in, if it does not fill on the next bar, I cancel the order.

Same scenario for a short. Projected low = 3000.00, place a sell limit at 2999.75, if does not fill on next bar, order is canceled.

Can this be programmed into a strategy? I have paid to have it programmed, and it never gets in correctly. Thanks for your help.

Hi scottiemickey,

it sounds programmable, but the tough part is the synchronization between the two charts. Especially when it should display the historical trades this can become hard. In realtime this is slightly easier to do.
