Any feedback on these guys? A search didn't turn up anything for me on the forum:

https://progressivetradinggroup.com/...ons/#Financials

They offer 12.5% intraday margin on accounts $5k or more, although there is no minimum to open (you just won't get the 12.5%).

They also offer Ninjatrader with Rithmic, and clear through Vision Financial.

No fee structure published, but I assume it's negotiable based on volume and size and probably not as deep as some other IB's but still pretty close.

The one issue I have is that I can't seem to find anyone anywhere who uses them, although Vision seems to be pretty reputable from what I understand.

I'm currently with Crossland, but the way they make me play musical chairs with my margin limits is driving me nuts, and I also don't like that TT (my data feed) doesn't provide any historical data, and I may have to look at paying $50 a month just to get it. My understanding is that Rithmic does provide that data, so switching for that reason alone will save me $50 a month, on top of possibly a faster/better data feed and more aggressive margin rates.

Think big, think positive, never show any sign of weakness. Always go for the throat. Buy low, sell high. Fear? That's the other guy's problem. In this building, it's either kill or be killed. You make no friends in the pits and you take no prisoners. One minute you're up half a million in soybeans and the next, boom, your kids don't go to college and they've repossessed your Bentley. Are you with me?

LightWeight,

I've heard good things about Progressive although I do think they are relatively new with Vision. I clear through Vision and am quite happy with them, however my IB (introducing broker) to Vision is Optimus Futures which you should check out as well. Matt @mattz the owner is relatively active on futures.io (formerly BMT) and is a good resource and broker.

Thanks for the feedback. I've heard great things about Matt and Optimus, but my impression is that his margin policy is too cautious for me, I tend to trade heavy with a higher win rate, so I'm looking for 25% margin (or better) in addition to the Ninja + Rithmic set up.

We can accommodate 25% of margin, and can give as low as 20%.

But, just keep in mind that in general you are right, we do tend to be a little higher that what the competition offers, and our account minimum is $5K. We find that this policy helps our customers preserve capital in the long run. I don't find the offering lower and lower minimums and having small margins is any edge, rather a lower requirement from an individual as entry.

However, we do realize that at times there are customers who are slightly more experienced and need further accommodation. Therefore, I encourage you to contact us.

Our pride is in our support, technology and long term relationship.

Thanks Matt, I may give you a call to discuss my options and see if that would be a good move for me.

My understanding is that Rithmic does provide that data

Optimus provides historical data. Rithmic does not. Very few (if any) brokers other than Optimus will provide you historical data using Rithmic.

Okay now I'm confused....I thought the data feed was what provided the historical data. I currently have TT, and although I'm not supposed to get historical data (my understanding was they don't provide it) I somehow do, except for instruments like RBOB and the softs. For example, I have a friend who has CQG as a data provider, and he gets that information (his broker is AMP). So, my understanding was that data feeds such as CQG and Rithmic provided the historical as well as the real-time data, while TT did not. Am I now to understand it's the IB's that do or do not provide the historical data?

Edit: I suppose I should clarify that what I need is 1 second data going back ideally at least a year, which is what I get for most contracts under my current set up with TT.

I just saw that you use Ninjatrader. NT provides Zen-Fire based historical data, so you will get it from them, or at least that was the case back when I used them. But regardless of platform, Optimus provides historical data, at least that is my understanding.
