Is it my imagination or do the futures trend more in after hours trading than in regular trading hours??

The hard part of that question is that everyone defines a trend differently. It is definitely more volatile during the day, the average true of time based charts will drop overnight. But the average true range of volume/tick based charts increases overnight, which to me means price action is more efficient overnight, but couldn't say if that correlates to trends better or not.
