I was wondering if there was an indicator that would show everytime a new high or a new low was put on by a bar. This could be for intraday or daily or whatever time frame.

I would appreciate if someone could provide more info.

Thanks

keepdchange,

NT does provide code for just this situation.

You could try plotting bars with code something like the following:

if (e.MarketDataType == MarketDataType.DailyHigh) Values[0] = Close[0];

if (e.MarketDataType == MarketDataType.DailyLow) values[1] = Close[0]

Thanks RJAy,

But I have no idea in programming. If it does not take much of your timetime, I would appreciate if you could provide this indicator.

Thanks,

keep,

I built an indicator for you last night and I am posting it here called NewHighNewLow.

I rate its usefulness as poor. It is a "Hot" indicator and only charts in real time. It is not on the attached image.

I am also posting two additional indicators here found on the NT forum that I use that I feel are more useful.

Change their colors to your liking. Any features that you are not interested in, turn off or set color to transparent.

RJay

The classical indicator that prints new highs or lows for a specified period is the Donchian Channel Indicator.

If you look for a new high for the day/week/month the SessionPivots Indicator (Current Version is 1.6) for NinjaTrader 7 will do. You would need to enter the full ETH session via session template. You then have further options:

(a) Display of High, Low and Close based on the full session (ETH), Daily or Intraday data
(b) Display of High, Low and Close based on the day session (RTH), Intraday data only
(c) Case holidays with trade date next day, it allows you to display OHL for the 2-day-sessions

If you are still on NT 6.5 there is a SessionPivots V 8.4. that also includes OHL indicators. For this one you need to enter session times via indicator and there is no holiday option. Both indicators are available on the NinjaTrader Forum.
