I just saw the Wolfram Finance Platform thread and thought I would start a new thread to see if there were any other non-programmer type people using mathematica in their trading and how. I actually bought a commercial version of Mathematica a few years ago with the idea of making an ATS. There was link on Wolfram's site on how to setup IB feed directly into Mathematica and it was removed immediately after I made my purchase. That idea didn't last too long. :sarcastic:
I was creating indicators(a low tech MACD) on charts with the FinancialData function a few years before they had the native TradingChart function. I have used it to import exported IB data for graphing and am starting to look at how I can use it for FT71 type statistical day type analysis.(I'll post some results on that when I get it all put together here and on my CL journal.) I also have worked on a swing trading stock scanner for stock options but that is still a work in progress. Even though my original idea for working with Mathematica evolved it's pretty cool tool that you can quickly implement new ideas with. Its not cheap though.
