I am considering moving to an area that can only provide at the max: 20 megs of internet connection, if you are fortunate. I have checked some places and their connection is only 1.7 megs. This area, is consider like a desert for internet connectivity.
The most they can offer is 20 megs, if I can get that? It is mostly wireless, some cable.
Right now I have charter with cable which I like more than wireless.
When I started out trading I was told, not to use wireless and don't know if that still applies.
If I move to another city (my 2nd favorite), they can offer me at l50 megs with cable or even more.
How important is that? I am doing just fine with 30 megs.
1. I am dealing with ID theft and not sure how secure wireless internet is? So, i prefer to stay with cable.
any input from long term traders about wireless and what is the best megs with wireless? Or what is too low with wireless and how can you stay secure on a wireless computer without using a security system that will interfer with my NT trading platform?
(My 2nd place, I can get cable with 50 megs but do I need that much? Also, you get 50 mgs for download but maybe 10 for upload?)
Your inputs would help me, in my decision making process.
2. I also want to use Gomi indicators and what is most important to handle the CPU intensity?
DO I need a Quad core or more?
4-8 Gigs of Ram?
using 2 Acer Screens but have open about 12 charts: minute, NoGap and RJ Renko Hybrid chart.
Thinking about a laptop or just tweaking my present trading computer to handle the Gomi indicators.
I have looked at past threads on what one needs for a trading computer but in 2011, there wasn't a Gomi indie yet.
How much or what do I need to use Gomi indie?
After 4PM Sunday night, I am off this computer and back on my trading computer. Won't access emails till Friday around 5:30PM.
