Started working with the jtRealStats chart indicator on NT7 to plot depth of book on a 1min chart.
jtRealStats is a great idea, really brilliant. But, I'm having some issues:

- the lower level order bars always go off the visible y axis
- or the bars will overlap after I make the y axis larger
- the bar quantity numbers are virtually too small to read
- the bar scale is inconsistent, e.g. a 500 bar might have the same length as a 9000 bar that was shown a sec earlier if they are/were both the largest quotes
- I always have to pull the chart to the left to keep the candlesticks out of the bars
- the other optional volume data doesn't scale properly and blocks the view of the book

I saw on a futures.io (formerly BMT) posting that an NT7 upgrade may have undermined its functionality.
So I wonder, is there a version newer than one posted on NT's site for download?

Also, I came across SupperiaDOM looking for more info on jtRealStats:

[sorry, can't post link - search for "supperia" product review]

It might be a cleaner version of a book plotter, and includes some nice features that jtRS lacks. However, I can't find the indicator anywhere, and it looks like supperia.com doesn't even offer it anymore. Does anyone have this indicator, what do you think about it, and can you share the file? (Supperia also did/does Flashlight or Trade Plotter that looks a lot like a Volume Ladder - anybody tried that?)

Finally, is there some other software that works better than either of these options?

Thanks,

Mark

Im fairly certain that "supperia" just stole the gomi package off futures.io (formerly BMT). And the supperiaDOM looks like @1LotTrader 's Dom, both are available free to elite members on futures.io (formerly BMT).

Thanks addchild,

I'll take a closer look at 1LDOM.

Actually, I think I already found a screenshot of it here:

Thread: Ninja Trader Custom Order Book - 1LDom - Source Code
Post #: 348

Looks interesting, I see the price on the y-axis. But on the 1st image the DOM doesn't seem to be an overlay on a chart - candlestick or other - as it is with jtRealStats or SupperiaDOM.

Yes, that Trade Plotter does look very much like the GOM Volume Ladder or Market Delta, etc..

GOM Volume Ladder looks great. But, just to be clear, I'm looking for current bids/asks, at multiple book levels, overlayed on a chart. I'm not sure if Volume Ladder does that too, in addition to its cumulative bid/ask trade volume plotting.

Appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Mark

The creator of JTrealstats, RJ, was selling a really nice looking set of level 2 indicators on his website, NinjaTrader Indicators And Bar Charts | Innovative Trading Solutions. They were the evolution of JTrealstats, however, he took them down for fear they would be reverse engineered by other vendors. I would really like to get this functionality on NT as well, if any programmers here are up to fixing it up and making it available to bmt members.

Thanks Kind Programmers... haha

Thanks syxforex,

Great info.

I'll give this thread some time and if nothing else pops up I'll contact RJay to get the scoop.
Will keep you advised.

Hi All,

OK, I would like to clear up a few things with this post.

First, JT Was the original creator of this indicator. And I could never measure up to his coding talents. He created several indicators including the first NT news indicator that I still use today.( With substantial recoding!! Its what I do.)

Second, I have never sold any version of the JTRealStats indicator. It is not my creation and i would not take money for someone else's creativity.

While it is true that I did give this indicator an interesting makeover. It proved to be such a distraction people who beta tested it found themselves watching the indicator instead of trading.

Also Zondor had a major hand in the overhauling of this indicator when it was migrated from NT 6.5 to NT7. Credit where credit is due.

I believe JT sold the rights to this indicator to another entity and futures.io (formerly BMT) at that time pulled JT's version down from this site.

Please do not ask me for this JTRealStats indicator because it is not mine to give.

It is true that I created several volume based indicators that are different from what most are use to. These products were removed from my retail site to protect them when another member here on futures.io (formerly BMT) told me of their intention of taking all my creations and selling their own versions.

Please do not ask me for any of these volume products. they are no longer available for retail.

Since I am a developer and a retailer, not a trader, my breakthrough chart creations stayed up on my web site so I could pay the bills. As you might have noticed, Many are now selling their versions of my creations. There are also free versions here on futures.io (formerly BMT).

As I said earlier, JT was and hopefully still is a brilliant programmer, where ever he is these days.

RJay

P.S. I hope this post does not violate any of this forums rules regarding vender posts. If it does I apologize in advance.

RJay,

Thanks for setting the record straight.

Just to be clear, the jtRealStats version I am talking about is available for free on the NT forum, so nobody is stealing that.

Re: your comment about your version being too distracting, that may be true. But I also find it difficult to watch the book, T&S, and a chart all at the same time. A DOM window might suffice, but NT7's DOM doesn't work with level II stock data.

So, getting back to the original question, if the latest and greatest jtRealStats version is no longer available, then what would you recommend, if anything, as best for plotting level II book on a chart? And where can it be found?

Thanks again for the contribution.

I'm not sure what older version of jtrealstats may be in the public domain. From 6.5 forward into 7.0 there were several versions, some posted by myself and some by Zondor. These versions were for public use being created before I launched my web site. Back when JT was still an active member here.

I have not been tracking any level2 products for a while. So I don't really have an opinion with any other products.

RJAY, thanks again for your contributions. Would you be able to explain to us exactly what your market maker and hft indicators calculated such that we might hire a coder to build it for us? Was it just a graphically pleasing version of JT?

Thanks

JT posted his version of the Realstats indicator on his website for free so I have no reservations about upgrading and redistributing it. He does deserve a lot of credit for this as the idea is brilliant. RJay's updates were also good.

As I gained coding experience I realized that the indicator had a lot of sloppy and inefficient code. I really cut my teeth on this one. Before he even had an NT7 version, I sent JT the code of my version, but he "graciously" ignored me. To THE MINES with him, then.

Here is my latest version. It has not been updated in a while.

There is a user adjustable horizontal scaling factor that limits the width of the histogram bars as a percentage of the width of the canvas. That should help with some of your issues.

The font size of the histogram numbers can be changed if necessary, not hard to do.
