Hi I am just setting up Multichart and am trying to import the list of NYSE symbols from IB.
I tried using an asterix to bring up the list to import but IB returns an error code and it won't come through.
I don't want to enter them individually, is there an easier way?

Thanks

You can try the following, go to IB listings page

https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=1563

Select NYSE, and then select the symbols and copy them into Excel.
Delete all non relevant data, leaving only the symbols.
Then copy all symbols and paste them into MC's Scanner Window.
From that moment all symbols will be saved on QM, although I don't know if doing this you'll get the settings for each symbol as if they were added manually.

Give it a try.

If I become half a percent smarter each year, I'll be a genius by the time I die

Hi Arnie,

Thanks, I had tried that without success but I seem to have it working now.

I downloaded a list of symbols in .csv from Yahoo for each exchange.
I know a few will be different but it is easy to fix the few that show "no data found" by deleting them in the Quote Manager and loading them manually.
I would have included the files here but they exceed the limit for size
If someone tells me where and how to send them, I will.

I looked at the way Multicharts had saved symbols in each exchange and adjusted accordingly.

I created 4 columns, Symbol name, Description, Exchange, Category
Saved to a Tab delineated text file
Opened that in the Quote Manager import symbol list
the settings on that were- start in column 2
type TAB - yes
Treat consecutive Delimiters as One - Yes
Text Qualifier - No

Then it asks for the Data Feed and for the
AMEX it is Interactive Brokers
NYSE and the NASDAQ it is IQ Feed
