Inspired by this open and honest post by NJAMC ( to start my own journal here. I can relate personally to his early experience, and it's always healthy to have your work scrutinized to keep your head in check.
Why the negative title for this journal?
In trading, you will fail until proven otherwise, so as I start my journey I have to assume that I'm going to lose everything, unless somehow I don't. I've only been trading for 2 years, (working in NinjaTrader for most of that), I have hacker-grade programming skills, and I tend to learn things the hard way, so already the odds are stacked against me.
I am working on some strategies that I will post in the coming days. I am a perfectionist and I always try to squeeze out every nickel in a strategy before I add money and risk management to it, so I'm looking forward to the community feedback.
My ultimate goal is to go completely automated with discretionary parameters... the reason can be found in liquidcci's post about the 'dark side' ( which I can relate to.
