Thought I would start a thread on useful information to improve standard of life on all levels: from social, political, environmental, communty and individual.
Zondor posted some things that inspired me and I am going to start this thread with them:

There is an organization called Transition which is preparing people for the exact things the video brings up. https://www.transitionus.org/
They will help teach people how to start growing their own food etc.
Also, there are and have been alternative energy sources which have been shelved so we could address this issue properly but do what you can now: drive less, look into moving etc. There are some communities that are poppping up: that are ecological communities, everything is within walking distance or near public transportation etc.

Meetup is a great resource: example there is a guy who lives in Long Beach, CA who will turn a person's front and backyard into an organic garden and will do the gardening for a percentage of the harvest. He has helped cure a lot of diseases just by his patients changing their diet, what a concept.

I can't find the information, so I am just going to write what I read.
After a nuclear bomb was dropped in Japan, a medical hospital had the head MD, who was familar with the Macrobiotic diet.
The people who were standing outside of the hospital when the bomb exploded, got radiation sickness and the MD immediately
put all the sick people in the hospital on a simple macrobiotic diet. The town kept their supplies at this hospital and they had access
to rice, some sort of squash, miso and something else I can't remember.
That is all they ate.
One of the patients went off the diet by going to the store room and ate something sweet that had sugar in it. He immediately started throwing up
etc. showing signs of radiation posioning. The MD told him to not go off the simple diet he had them on and NOT to eat sugar.
To make a long story short, every single one of the patients in the hospital lived to a ripe old age and never came down with cancer while others were perishing etc.
They continued to eat the diet the MD put them on and with time, expanded it to include more veggies etc.

I think quality of life is based on freedom and knowledge etc.
Personally it was upsetting to watch this video but I think it is important to be aware of such things, pro and con, so we can make educated decisions etc.
So, I will watching things that are negative so I am aware of possibilities which will help me in my future decisions on all aspects of my life: voting etc.
I am not saying he is right or wrong, it is America and we still have freedom of speech.
