Well, I'm giving a go at SC. The soft seems to have a good reputation. Also, I find the documentation on the website is a real mess and a labyrinth to nagivate through.
Is there a real documentation somewhere, well written, with examples, list of available functions per type, list of spreadsheet manipulations, screenshots, etc ?
Thanks !
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I'm surprised to hear your opinion. Can you give an example of another trading software package which has better documentation than SC? The online documentation is thorough, generally well written, and answers 99% of the questions I have had about the platform. In short, it is the best documentation I have ever had the pleasure of using. I may sound overboard but documentation is such a laborious boring task that it speaks volumes about the team at SC that they actually update and maintain the documentation. Just go look at another help site like Ninja or Multicharts (if you want to call it "help") and just see how SC shines in this category. The search feature in the upper right is very good, also the site is well indexed on google so sometimes I will search google for 'sierra chart xyz' and it often turns up the right answer.
I find it easier to search, navigate, read, on these pdf than on the SC documentation website. Maybe that's just a matter of me, or also the pages on the SC website don't have any border actually ?
walk thru sc document is like walk thru a maze one wrong turn and you end up with thing that unrelates to what you were looking for. try google until you are more familiar with SC way of doing thing,
exmp: want to know about color, google 'color site:www. sierrachart. com'
Frankly, I find SC documentation quite difficult to follow too..
And their support forum is one horrible mess. I can't believe up till now, they still haven't bothered to categorise the forum in a couple of broad themes..
No wonder similar questions keep popping up at times..
