Flatten button not working in Sierra Charts

Hi All, Here is my situation. I am running Sierra Charts with TransAct and trading the DAX futures index on the Eurex. When I trade on SIM all works well. I am profitable most days and life is good. I have three ways of exiting a trade. I either hit my target, my stop or I hit the Flatten button. If my target is +10 points, for example, and the price moves in my direction 5 points and stalls, sometimes I click the Flatten button and take my profits.

Well, as you might have guessed, when I try the same approach in live trading, it doesn't work so well. My stops get overrun and the program goes into this "suspended animation" where the price keeps fluctuating but none of my orders are executing. Once I was in a trade that had gone two points in my favor when I realized a news event was 3 minutes away and I wanted to exit. I clicked Flatten and my stop and target dissappeared, but my trade stayed active. -8 points later or $200, the trade desk got me out of the position.

1st solution offered by my broker was a software setting from his end that improved things a bit, but that's all.

2nd solution offered by the trade desk was to improve my internet connection from wifi (2.62 mbps) to high speed (23 mbps). Done and no improvement.

3rd - My pc runs at 1.83GHz with 2 gigs of ram. Is this not fast enough for what I'm trying to do?

Anyway, be gentle this is my first post here. What do you guys think is the issue? I'm now leaning towards upgrading my pc, but I'm not sure what to do really.

Thanks,
Pubguy

If you haven't already, you might want to post the same question on the Sierra Chart support forum. I have noticed a number of posts regarding Transact.

There are posts on the SierraChart forum regarding similar issues with Transact. Here is one:

Your computer and internet connection are both adequate for what your are doing, IMO.

This is an issue where I would suggest you post on the Sierra forum.

@ Pubguy,

I sure hope SC Support will get to the bottom of this, as they have been making frequent updates of the SC lately. I was impressed initially, but i now find the rate of updates quite disconcerting..

There seems to a pattern of an update affecting users of a Data/Trading provider, and the next update affecting another group of users of another Data/Trading provider, and so on.

In the end, the SC Support team seem overworked and can't respond effectively to user feature requests to make SC an outstanding charting and trading platform.

Thanks guys. I posted here because I can't seem to post to the SierraChart forum. Neither my demo account or live trading account login info gets me in the door.

Any other input from forum members here would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Pubguy

I think you have to create a new account in the SC forum to be able to post in it..

Pub Guy:

Curious to see if you ever received a reply from TransAct on this issue. I had the exact same problem
and many more. I was told no one else was having a problem and it had to be me, or anything other than Infinity/TransAct.

I started this new Thread:

Hope you can chime in with what you learned.
