I was going to post about this, getting the same problem. Tried re-installing at a different location, turning off the firewall, etc...nothing helped.

TWS loads fine. IB Gateway still won't load, even after TWS started fine.

I use the standard TWS: no problem. Tried the gateway just for fun and get the same result as you: hangs on initialization.

They put out a new update, it fixed the gateway issue.
