I am looking for a platform that is stock friendly. I have a few platforms to include Multicharts (MC), Sierra Charts (SC), Thinkorswim (TOS) and Quotetracker (QT). TOS and QT are both stock friendly but TOS is a resource hog and I have no desire to use TDA as my broker. The functionality of TOS is actually quite impressive and if it were open to use with IB, I would probably not be writing this. QT does work with IB, but I am afraid that at some point I may be forced to change to another platform if the rug is pulled out from QT. I also do some futures trades, but QT is not the best providing all the functionality I would like with futures.
One of the main areas where stock trading differs from the futures and forex is in the plethora of stocks tracked at any one time vice futures or forex. I have at least 80 that I have on a quote window and want to be able to change my active chart to any one of these by a simple click. SC just recently added this functionality but did not have it when I subscribed previously. Unfortunately, the quote window is somewhat lacking sith SC. MC also has this functionality, but has a few items that make it awkward for stocks. Namely, the alert functions. If there are any stock traders out there who use a platform that is open to Interactive Brokers and can accommodate stock traders as well as futures, please let me know.
I have not tried out Ninjatrader and would be interested in hearing from those that use this for stock trading. Thank you.
