It is alright at some extend, there are some good speakers and workshops for example the CME ones; You can also have fun, ask questions, buy some discounted books and even get some free money from a broker to trade, yep I got a couple of hundred dollars from a broker to trade [real money]. If you are just starting out in trading it may worth it, what you need to understand is that it is all about marketing/propaganda and companies and people trying to sell their fish to you.

^^Agree with the above. It can be fun, meeting and socialing with other traders, especially since retail trading is quite solitary, and getting the free gifts/goodies, trying out the trading contests, but don't expect to find a holy grail or become a successful trader by attending. It's mostly full of vendors trying to sell their products/services, and that includes in most of the classes/lectures.

Thanks mrphr, Futures Operator. I'm still considering now.

Another fun aspect was coordinating with other traders and meeting up at the Expo, there may be futures.io (formerly BMT) or other trading forum members attending that you could reach out to and meet in person.
