I have been trading with HA bars for some time now and they are excellent, they help keep you in a trend for much longer as they disguise the PA. They are however butt awfull for entering a trade as they also disguise the open and close of the bar. I have tried to get round this by setting the bar colours in the data series for OHLC bars, see image, and this is great until you change time frame and then the bars are reset back to transparent, which is a pain.

Is there anyway to either add the open and close to the HA bars or to edit the Indy so that it does not reset the Candles/OHLC etc to transparent???.

I have tried Closedot and Closebar indies.

Fat Tails coded a very nice indicator for this. anaHeikenAshiPaintBars allows you to paint a regular ohlc bar with the HA calc. There are other useful items as well. Check that out. DB

Thank you. I should have said that I have looked at all the HA indicators on this forum and none of them create what is in my image. But thank you anyway.

The advantage of HA bars is that they disguise the PA displayed by ordinary Candles or OHLC bars so you are not analysing every candle, less stressfull, however I learnt to trade using PA and that I is why I like to at least see the open and close, it also helps with entries. I have the OHLC bars behind the HA bars so that you can just see the nibs of the open and close, the PA is not in your face. I know that that must be an anathama to most here as PA is King.
