Is anyone running NinjaTrader and Sandboxie together? It's not that I am trying to sandbox NT, it's more of a poor mans virtual machine where I can keep my IQFeed connection since it's all one single machine and not virtual machines.

It seems to work OK in my testing so far, here are two instances of NT, one regular and one sandboxied, and they are both running in parallel.

I'm mainly just interested in this for optimization purposes. It also makes it easy because they share the same local data, same local strategies, indicators, etc. With virtual machines you have to constantly sync everything back and forth.

And you can't simply put the NT folder on a shared resource (NAS) because write access will be a problem and will corrupt data. This is where Sandboxie comes in handy, because it isolates all the writes to the filesystem, and at the end of my session I can just discard all of them since it was only optimization data anyway.

I did get this error:

But it hasn't slowed anything down as far as I can tell.

BTW, performance wise they seem equal, I cannot tell any difference between them.

Virtual Machine is cleaner, but the synchronizing can be a pain. With Sandboxie, all you do is right-click and hit "Run Sandboxed", the end.
