Im evaluating Multicharts and now am trying to connect a CQG demo connection to it. I already had Multicharts 64 installed before installing CQG API.
Its not connecting properly.
This is what I did
1. Installed the CQG API
2. Opened Quote Manager and configured the CQG Data Source with my Demo Username and Password
3. Added a couple of symbols
4. Tried to connect the symbol by right clicking and clicking 'Connect Symbol'
Yes I saw you need to install the CQG API first then MC. Its probably the problem but how does this cater for MC users who have already been using it for a while? I dont really want to uninstall MC then reinstall the CQG API THEN install MC again but maybe there is no alternative?
Any CQG users who had MC8 installed first then installed the CQG API?
But it didnt help. In my case it may have been a firewall blocking proper connection. So I let MC and Quote Manager full access through the firewall and it then enabled me to connect and display a few charts.
I cant get some SPI contracts and others to load data in charts but that may be a CQG / AMP issue. NW was detailing some issues on the above link, so I think I may have to investigate further.
