Hi All,
I am fortunate in that I have a wife that supports my trading completely. She is nothing but positive in my efforts to become a fulltime trader one day. However she knows next to nothing about trading, so I have spent time with her explaining the basics.
To those of you with significant others who know nothing about trading, how much time have you spent explaining what you do to them? Do you think it's important that they have a basic understanding of it?
For example when I have a losing day, but I have traded well and stuck to my plan, I will tell her I had a good day trading. Telling someone who doesn't trade that you lost X dollars today and had a good day is hard to understand.
I think it's extremely important that your SO has a general understanding of what you do as a trader, especially because a lot of the psychological issues you will deal with, will reflect and need to be dealt with by your SO in some way too. In my opinion.
What are the things you think are important for your SO to know about trading?
cheers.
