Hello,

I had a computer with NT (7.0.1000.6) which run on to Vista 32 bits.

I buy a new computer wich run on to 64 bits with windows 7 professional. I downloaded NT and I replace the file Ninja Trader 7 I had on my other computer. I can open the workspace I saved but I lost a plenty of indicators I downloaded, all sessions I created .....

Am I obliged to recreate all my workspace do I have done a mistake?

Best regards

Surely that cant be right!!
I'm still new to Ninja 7 myself, but is it not a case of just copy the complete Ninja 7 folder from your old machine to you new?
I hope this sorts your problem.
:-)

Did you copy the NT folder from documents folder or from the Programs folder?

I think there's more to it than that - Ninja has a database too.

Can't you just backup on one machine and restore the backup on the other?

You can and it works well, but there are a few things that don't copy that way.

Thanks for your answer.

I copy the NT folder from documents folder.

Best regards

You are copying the correct folder. Everything you need plus the database is located there. I would suggest verifying the copy procedure worked. Check the Bin/custom/indicator folder located in the NT Folder to see if your indi's are there.

It should be noted that you have to recompile the indi's before they show up for use on your chart. To do this choose any indi and recompile and the rest will show up.

From memory:

1- Use the "backup" and "restore" feature built-in to NinjaTrader. The backup will not include 3rd party vendor DLL files, you will have to copy those manually and re-install them into the new installation. It is not enough for the DLL to be copied in Windows, you have to add References inside NinjaTrader as well (install it, or manually edit the references file).
2- On the new system, only launch NinjaTrader x86 32-bit until you can verify everything works.
3- If you launch NT x64 and are missing indicators, it is because you have protected DLL assemblies from vendors which are only 32-bit, and you need to contact the vendor to obtain 64-bit DLL's.
