I live in UK and I like to trade the open of various markets; DAX future on the European open, FTSE-100 future on the UK open and the Russell 2000 future on the US Open. I am trading the Russell 2000 via TradeStation hosted on a VPS in Chicago and works well (through speedy trading servers (). I am a discretionary trader and do not use automated strategies. Most of my entries are with Stop Market / Stop Limit orders and some are with Limit orders. I very rarely enter with a market order. My exits are 95% with limit orders and sometimes with a market order or a stop market order.
I have a few questions around setting this up.
DAX is priced in EUR. Should I trade this in a EUR account? Is it necessary to find a broker near to the Eurex exchange and use them? Should I try and find a VPS near the Eurex exchange to optimize my fills? If so, please recommend one.
FTSE-100 Future on NYSE-Liffe is priced in GBP. I am struggling to find a broker that offers this contract, I also need to find a data provider. Can anyone reccommened one? Again, do you think I need a VPS in London? I'm not even sure where NYSE-Liffe exchange is located.
I am trading the Russell using TradeStation hosted in Chicago. Is this optimal? I still get slippage with Stop Market order, but that is simply because this market is quite thin I think and it's not because of slow execution. My account here is in USD.
