I used my own variation of SuperTrend for a long time. I still have it on my big chart just because I wanted a chart without HeikenAshi on it like my other two charts have.

I use a setting of ATR, Period 1, Multipler 2.5, JMA smoothing of period 7.

There is no magic value. It will depend on several things which you didn't list in your message:

1) What instrument are you trading?
2) What time frame do you base your entries on?
3) What are your stops and targets?

This is important because if you are trading for 5 point targets then you want less noise. If you are trading 5 tick targets, you need a much quicker setting for the multiplier and smoothing, etc.

Thanks, Trading ES looking for 5 points. For smoothing what else besides JMA. Don't have Jurik.

JMA is in downloads section, reverse engineered-Jurik-like. You'll want larger multiplier and smoothing for a 5 point target/stop. Probably double what I use.

Thanks Mike
When I attempt to use jma as an option I get an error "missing jurik.dll" I then hit ok and it still loads the jma which shows on the top info for Tssupertrend. Is it really loaded? or is it using some default.

Thanks

The ones that come with NT are real-Jurik. You need a DLL for those. That is not what is in the download section, two separate things. Don't load the indicator built into NT called Jurik.

TS SuperTrend has to be modified to support JMA. You have to write code for it.

I'd like to try this TS Super Trend indicator..but I can't seem to find it in the TS easy language forum ...(or yours Mike for NT). Could somebody post a link? I'd prefer the NT one.

Mike what setting would you use for trading the ES, my PT is 2.0 and stop before I move it is 1.50 pt.

Thanks!

Rob
