Can anyone direct me to information on editing the Enviornment Variables in Win 7, to write to a different disk than the OS is on? Specifically to write the tick data for Gomi recorder is my purpose. I'm confused about what to enter for a variable value when changing the location?
Thanks for any thoughts

Hi,

It is covered in the GomRecorder thread multiple times, and also in the video tutorial in post #2 of the thread.

Plus you can google it:

Let me google that for you

Short answer, you don't need to make a single change unless you know what you are doing -- just leave it default, and it will record into root of Documents folder. If you want it to record somewhere else, enter the new path, reboot Windows, and done.

Mike

Big Mike: Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I would not have posted before reading all the Gomi info on the subject and the Google ref that is posted numerous times. i'm thinking I've missed something or folks here are not editing their variables files as per the instructions, simply as you say using the default.
Here is where the default location is printing to on my machine : %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp
Could I trouble you or someone else to give me the location of that file on their machine, is it in the C; Drive if that is where Win is installed?
The reason for my query this: I install Windows and all programs on C:, an SSD, and I print all data to a spin drive, let's call it Z: My documents, all chart software, Ninja data, Outlook etc all print to Z:. I am hoping to do the same with the Gomi Recorder data. I am asking about the command line instruction to replace the above with, in order to print to the Z: drive.
Sorry to be a pain, if I am not understanding all the effort and posting that has been put into this issue. I simply cannot find a succinct answer to the above question, which seems simple to me; but maybe I just don't get something?
Thank you for any help you can provide.
