I recently joined this Bigmikes forum and found many great people helping each other. This is the best forum I ever been to. I wanted to see if anyone can help me with my dual monitor issue with Sierra chart.
I have two monitor and I use two chartbook for two instruments(6E and Gold). Each chart book has two charts(3 min and 15 min). I want to display my two chartbook in two different monitor but the problem is when I detach the chart I can only use two monitor for only one chartbook. It will only allow those two charts from one chartbook. I want to use chartbook A in monitor 1 and chartbook B in monitor 2. Is it possible ?
I would greatly appreciate your feedback/suggestion.
Thanks.
Vtrader.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I am by no means an expert, however I do not believe you can. I posed the same question and was told that what you are currently doing is the only way to use more than one monitor. I got used to it after a short while, the only problem I find is that tool bar is only on one of the screens.
If you have more success than I, please post it here.
You can only display one chartbook at a time regardless of one or two monitors.
The solutions to your problem are to either 1) put both sets of charts in a single chartbook or 2) use 2 copies of Sierra and open 1 chartbook in each.
Run only 1 chart book and have your gold on monitor 1 and Euro on monitor 2. This will save you from having to flip from chartbooks. Everything will be on "one giant screen" aka 2 monitors.
You should be able to pull out the toolbar and keep them outside the main chart windows. this way you can maximize the screenspace for charts and keep tool bar window in a convenient place - which would be applicable for all charts.
To do this - click & hold the left most space on tool bar and drag it out.
You know that this issue was specifically addressed in Ver 818 prerelease, right? (1/25/2012).
The "Chart Window Always Visible" option allows you to switch chartbooks without changing your detached windows (or even attached windows if you prefer . . ).
