Hi everyone,

I have created this thread to provide information on news/investor/sentiment analytics. I have worked on 1 engine for rating news sentiment, this is currently in use at sentimize.com. I would like to have discussions on the different types of news/twitter/other sentiment analysis, and will provide updates on my work.

I will be beginning work on 'version 2' of my analysis tools within the next few weeks and this will probably make up a good portion of my posts. I have also begun research into twitter sentiment.

Feel free to post your thoughts and comments.

Cheers

James

Hi everyone,

So, the christmas break is over and it is back into full swing..

The first goal of 2012 in News Sentiment is to get feedback on the site from as many users as possible and choose a direction for upgrading the service or adding features to the Sentimize site.

It would be of a great help to myself (and hopefully any other users interested in trading on sentiment) to get a few people testing out the current sentiment charts on the site.

This is very easy to do, from the main site (sentimize.com) simply signup for the free 3 day trial and test it out. I would really like the feedback. I can extend this 3 day period out for anyone from bigmike's forum who helps me in this beta testing process.

My possible thoughts for direction are as follows;
1) Plugins for trading platforms
I haven't created a plugin for any of these programs before, however am well versed in several programming languages.
2) Increase algorithms of sentiment formulas
I would be hesitant to do this without receiving more feedback on the curent site
3) Add a 'news stream' to the site.
This would almost be a 'global news' type page, showing all the news articles which my software captures. i could create several categories to make it very specific for trading so it was almost a 'global trading news' site. This could even be on a new domain
4) User ideas!
I just know that the best enhancements to the site will be from feedback from a user, so that's why i am seeking people to trial the site and provide feedback.
I look forward to targetting a direction for the new year and posting my progress.

Cheers
