Hi All,

I'm currently using IE6.029

Microsoft wants me to update to version 8.0

Is there any issues in version 8 I need to worry about?

RJay

It's a huge improvement over 6. But I only use IE in case of extreme emergency, otherwise I've been using Firefox for years. The add-ons for firefox are what make it far superior to everything else.

I can't think of any issues you will run into when upgrading to IE 8, however it is drastically different than IE 6 in terms of interface so it may be a bit of a put off.

As a web developer, please kill all IE6 installations! I've wasted so much time tweaking CSS for sites just to support IE6. I prefer Firefox, Chrome, or Safari over IE, but sometimes you have to use it. So if you still want to use IE please upgrade to IE8.

I can see by the comments in this section that I am not alone in my distaste for IE.

My question is whether anyone has had problems lately with IE not functioning when trying to use GoToMeeting webinar software? For the last few weeks, anytime I click on an email link to register for webinar at futures.io (formerly BMT), OR when I try to login to the webinar with IE, I get a blank IE page with generic message that indicates web page loading problem or something.

Anyway, I have switched to Firefox but wasn't sure if it may be another issue of some kind.

Thanks.

Bill

What version of IE?

Can you post a screen shot of the full error page including URL.

Mike

Well....now that I am trying to get that screen shot, it seems to be working. I am using IE 8.0.76. If it starts acting up again, I'll post the error message I was getting. I guess you fixed it!

Hi Mike,
I tried to link to the webinar today (from email link) and this is what I got:

Attachment 45118

If you are talking about the email from GoToWebinar with a subject line of "Reminder ....", I don't control this email content. But there are two links (the button "join webinar" and a little further below, just a regular text link). If you are having trouble opening them, it is probably your mail client or some configuration problem on your PC, because I've verified the link does work correctly in the emails.

As a work around, just select the link and copy/paste into IE manually.

I'd also recommend you upgrade to IE 9, or Firefox or Chrome preferably.

Mike
