Who in here has Multicharts and Sierra Chart working at the same time using IQFeed?

Something weird is happening. If I open Sierra first and then Multicharts, MC quotes will lag around 27 seconds in comparison with SC. If I open MC first and SC after, there will be no lag whatsoever. Actually, we can even see MC plotting quotes milliseconds ahead of SC.

I've already reported this to IQFeed support and they are investigating, trying to duplicate this lag. I'm waiting for a response.

Does anyone here an confirm this?

I'm using SC version 797 and MC 7 beta 4.

What version of IQFeed client?

I had both SC + MC for a while without the problems you mentioned.

Hi Mike.

I'm using the latest IQFeed client.

IQFeed support also can't duplicate this, but I've just installed the new MC7.4 beta2 and sierra in my laptop, and again, I have the same problem.
This time I was able to put Jing software working (in my desktop, which has 8 monitors, Jing don't work) and made 2 videos showing the problem.

The video called first open multicharts, MC is opened first, SC after and no delay can be seen. The video called first open sierra, SC is opened first, MC after and in here we can see MC clearly lagging.

We are investigating the issue. We'll post once we've analyzed the situation.

Well, just to say that MC support found what the problem was. SC is running as an administrator while MC is not. Weird isn't it? So if MC runs as an administrator as well, no lag will be visible between both programs.

Like SC support said and I quote:

..."This is just one of these odd Windows issues that's unexplainable

Yeah, that SC administrator thing is due to the installation path they choose. I believe if you install in the normal location (I hate programs that install to the root) under Program Files, and store files in the normal location under Documents, then you do not need admin rights on the system.

You might try moving your files to those locations and/or re-installing to the normal accepted locations for all Windows developers, and see if you can then force Sierra to run without elevated privileges.

From a software standpoint, it's not correct to force the users to run the program as administrator. Not all users have administrator rights on their machines, for example in large organizations. As far as we are concerned, that method doesn't meet standard Windows requirements for applications.
