I am looking for anyone interested in working together to discuss, our trading ideas, the trades we took and why, as well as the ones we didn't and why. I primarily trade the ES, with some occasional NQ and YM. My primary trading style is first retracements in an established trend, on a 3 minute chart, and I use market delta, and price action as the most important aspects.

I am also looking at adding a breakout strategy, in those situations where you would look to trade a pullback after a break of some significant point.

Dale

Hi,
a couple questions.
i just found your thread by doing a search on BM.
I thought there was a larger thread for folks looking for a trading partner? i thought i saw someone refer to it in another thread..
did you ever find a partner/group to trade with?

Thanks

Hi TraderTX, I don't know if there are any groups, I would think there would be. I did find a trading partner, and we have 2 completely different methedologies, so I think it's been beneficial for both of us. What sort of system are you using, and what are you hoping to gain?

Dale

Finding a trading buddy to chat with (via Skype mostly) and sometimes speak with on a regular (daily) basis has been one of the major reasons of my trading improvement over the course of the past couple months.

honestly i'd only be interested in this if the other trader was already profitable; otherwise it just becomes a mentorship-type scenario.

You don't want to mentor, or be mentored? I thought a trader can must always improve to keep up with consistency.

I am trading with my wife an one major benefit is to talk about feelings and psychological improvement, for that profitability is not necessary. Regular retrospectives helped us a lot to identify things to improve and get more control of our emotions. I would focus talking about how you executed your strategy, not about the strategy itself since that will not be of much use to both of you most times (since the methods most likely doesn't suit each other anyway). Talk about what went wrong and how you felt, try to identify the real reasons behind it and let bad feelings go the next time you encounter the situation. Also talk about what was good and again how you felt as you executed perfectly according to your rules and strategy. Write that down (trading journals here on the forum is a good place for example) and read over it several times.

In my opinion this one of the biggest benefits you can get from trading with a buddy, the closer you know the person and the more open you can talk therefore, the better.

I couldn't agree more.
It is all about mutual support, feedback and improvement. Every body can derive a strategy or pick one on the internet.
