Modern day Israel - as a political entity - is a made-up nation like all nations. It has its roots in an intellectual movement in 19th century europe. Up to that point there was no concept of a Jewish nation. It has nothing to do with the torah although most people have no idea of the difference. Prophecy is a political scare tactic. We still use it today to great effect but now it is called military intellegence. The earliest settlers in the US were fleeing religious persecution. This is history. There has always been Christian missionizing impulse " salvation " in the US psyche since its inception. The interest with middle east politically only took root just before WWI and the shift from coal powered ships - naval vessels - to crude oil. Initally mostly by Britain whose empire was defended by its naval superiority. WWi victors reorganized the middle east politically under the divide and conquer principal. Create new political entities from tribes who have long histories of warring with each other. Easy to manipulate thereafter. US natural resources began to decline. The oil embargo in 1970 is when the real obsession with middle east began in earnest. Okkams Razor will due.
That said the US has probably already has collapsed financially if honest accounting was ever acknowledged. It is now a shell game - with Europe in the thick of it as well. Of course The US can always create more digits on the Fed "balance" sheet but they are already geared up 100:1. So when does it simply become absurd? It does not matter ultimately because the death rate is and always will be one per citizen. So enjoy life while it lasts. Fear mongering is an old trade - I don't buy it.
