This isn't something that happens often, but when it does happen it just about drives me crazy as I usually have the homepage open monitoring the latest posts..... so much so that it usually drives me to close down futures.io (formerly BMT) when my web page loads this way.
This is probably something simple that I just happen to be unaware of?
But the problem is the WIDTH of the chatbox in relation to the latest post box. Usually the proportions are fine. But every once and a while, the latest-post box gets all truncated and scrunched up. Restarting Chrome doesn't seem to fix this.
This occurs on both my monitors, one is a 1920x1200 display, and the other is 1680x1050.
Attached is a pic of what I mean.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Yes, this happens when long URL's are posted in the chatbox. Long URL's cannot be wrapped without breaking, due to a limitation of the chatbox. So the width of the chatbox is extended to accommodate them.
The solution is to wrap a long url inside bbcode, by just typing [url="url-goes-here"]link[/url]. What this will do is the url will show up as the word "link" instead of some very wide long url.
