So far it looks promising. I'm not sure what is really new over what had been available in TWS. It seems like there are some better news feed options. I'm always looking for better news and I'm hopeful that I'll be able to just use this now and cancel my other service.

Here's the link in case you haven't seen it. If you already use TWS it is available in 819. I would think this would be really interesting for non-IB traders.

I have been using it since beginning of september and so far I am happy with it.. The news feed I normally use are all there so I can can cancel my other subscription now. The other features of the platform, beyond news and calendars does not seem to different that TWS as you note, but I have not really used those features to any length..

I have also been wondering about this new IBIS platform as I am an IB customer. Currently I am just using TWS and starting to learn MultiCharts DT.

What I am wondering the most about is the price, it looks like regular price (once the trial pricing is over) is $89/month for the basic platform. What exactly does that get you beyond the curent TWS platform that is costing $89/month? It looks very much the same to me so far, and you have pay extra for all of those news feeds by getting either the "Research Bundle" or subscribe A La Carte.

Is there something to this new platform that I am not seeing or is IB starting to shift to a pay monthly model for the same platform they have now which is free.

On the subscription page, I see a price of $39/mo for TWS users vs $69 for non-IB , but with a $0.40 discount for each $1 in commissions, so it looks like the platform itself is pretty easily paid for in commission. The data boost gets 2 more market depth feeds as well which I can use.

I guess the data services are just a bundle discount of 46% over what was already available. I rarely trade stocks so this isn't much use to me. I'll probably try it out for a while anyway.

I like the idea of a separate service like this. Right now, I get various news and fundamentals from 6 or 7 different sources (different brokers, IQFeed, etc...). A lot of it is duplicate and I can't really use it all in one place so it is pretty much a waste.

Thank you I had not seen the page that talks about IBIS as an add-on to TWS.

https://www.interactivebrokers.com/ibis/ibis_choice.php

The data boost would be useful and the snap together workspace might be nice, though I am still not convinced it is worth paying monthly for over TWS. I may try the one month trial when October starts, strange way they have to run the free trial.

So what does it cost to me if I have > 1k commissions? Is there a minimum, or do they send me the money?

It looks to me like the $39/mo would come out of your commissions, so it would be free, but you still have to pay for the data bundle - another $39/mo.
