Hello,

I'd like to know what is the most user-friendly data format to import to MultiCharts

I'm a NT7 user right now and the data formats have to be set a specific way hence it will fail to import. However, I understand that MultiCharts has the ability to work around various formats and edit them during the process of importation. STILL, what is the best data format with the lesser operations (no editing or tweaking) to perform in this process ?

If you can detail me the ideal :
- daily format
- 1min format
- ticks format

...I'd send you postcards from le top of la Tour Effeil sight-seeing french-maid bras

Last, will the ideal MC data format fit TradeStation needs just the same or not ?

Cheers

I remember a couple years ago I exported all my years worth of tick data out of NinjaTrader 6.5 and imported it into MultiCharts without any problems. The import process is very smart, I don't think you'll encounter any problems exporting from NT and importing into MC.

For candle bars, I've used this format:

Code
Date Time Open	High	Low	Close Volume
2007.03.01	00:00:00	1.3227	1.3229	1.3226	1.3228	885
2007.03.01	00:01:00	1.3228	1.3231	1.32265	1.3231	951
2007.03.01	00:02:00	1.3231	1.3234	1.32305	1.3231	1431
2007.03.01	00:03:00	1.3231	1.3231	1.323	1.323	365
2007.03.01	00:04:00	1.323	1.32315	1.323	1.3231	856
2007.03.01	00:05:00	1.3231	1.3232	1.3231	1.3232	715
And for ticks datas:

Code
Date Time Trade
2011.07.01	00:00:01	1.44744
2011.07.01	00:00:01	1.44746
2011.07.01	00:00:01	1.44749
2011.07.01	00:00:01	1.44752
2011.07.01	00:00:01	1.44754
2011.07.01	00:00:02	1.44754
... and no need for postcards, I can see the Tour Eiffel from my window
