There are several things you could watch, the most relevant and timely would be feeds that you can subscribe to that you can filter what reports you get. Fopr example, say you trade Apple, you can tell the news feed to alert you with any new story issued that contains that name, or symbol, or both in the text or the headline. That way you can put your focus on the chart and still not miss anything.

There are also websites like MarketWatch.com, CNBC.com, Briefing.com, seekingalpha.com, etc, some of which have tabs you can watch for the latest trade-relevant news.

For my trading, the most important "news" is just knowing what market related reports are coming out, what time they are coming, and least important to me, what the results are. I use 2011 Economic Calendar .

But, just for fun, consider this; the news itself may not be as important as how the market responds to it. Trading on news can cause you to try to interpret that news, which can cause you to not be as flexible in your thinking. The market will tell you what it thinks about the news, whether you know what the story is or not.

Let me know if you find something cool.

Thanks for the economic calendar

The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim too high and we miss it,
but that it is too low and we reach it.
