hi everybody,
my ideal trading setup has been so far a desktop with four screens and I am now curious about using a laptop instead.
Can anybody share his/her experience trading with a laptop and multiple screens and what hardware layout you chose ?

thank you
F

Has anybody had any experience with the layouts described on BannRonn.com (see: "Dual or Multi-Monitor Laptop for Stock Trading" in the site) ?
thank you
F

I use a laptop with 2 additional external monitors for a total of 3 monitors. One of the external monitors is connected to the built-in vga output of the laptop to one external monitor, and the other external monitor is connected via USB using a usb to vga adapter ( Micro Center - SIIG USB 2.0 to VGA Adapter JU-VG0012-S1)

I use one of these. Plugs into VGA and USB.

I have two external screens and laptop screen.

Allows you to extend your desktop seemlessly over the three screens.

I trade Live and never had issues.

You can also get a Matrox Tripple Head 2 Go

You can get DVI versions as well.

From their site...

Quoting
MaxiVista turns any spare Desktop, Laptop or Netbook PC into a dual monitor for your primary computer. No extra multi monitor hardware is required. Simply extend program windows across multiple screens as if it were one big monitor.

I bought a Pro license that allows up to four screens - pretty neat and works well (though I have GigE switches and all wired machines though I've even used it to connect to WiFi-connected laptops as well).

Not a true dedicated hardware solution, but thought I'd throw in a "satisfied customer" software-based offering.

Choose a laptop with AMD/ATI Eyefinity.

You should be able to connect up to 3 monitors with no additional hardware, dongles or boxes.
