Cant chart ASCII mapping data in MC. THe data is there but no chart
Why wont this chart? I export data from tradestation 8.7 (owndata datamanger) ASCII. I do ASCII mapping for NQM1 in MC. i import ASCII data into MC 6beta2 datamanager. It says complete. i click on edit data for the symbol and the data is there. When I goto chart it, NOTHING.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
THanks for the quick response. i decided to restart the PC and then went to offline mode and it worked fine. Problem is now that any data I export from TS 8.7 & import to MC, the 1 to the 12th of May, the datamanager is confusing the day with the month & makes it into March. how can I fix the misinterpretation by the quote manager.
Please & Thankyou
Perhaps your exporting like MM/dd/yyyy and importing as dd/MM/yyyy, or vice versa. You might check to see if you can control one side or the other to specify which way to handle the data.
If not there might be some converters out there somewhere to read csv values in a text file (the data) to reformat the dateline.
Who is your broker/data provider? Why not just download historical data directly as opposed to importing? If you are importing only as trial, maybe consider "known good" files available in several locations in Elite section of the forum for many instruments and years of data.
Im using Trading Technologies for the datafeed. In NInjaTrader it retrieves history data but not in MC. Do you know why? Thanks for the help. Im excited to start using the "replay" feature
You dont need to convert the date format in the csv file. You just need to change it when you import, by selecting the csv in the importer and then click on the date field header and select the corresponding format. You may even need to create a custom date template.
NinjaTraders "market replay" also lets you download data from NT's server directly - the feature is a platform feature, not broker/data feed specific. MultiCharts has a market replay feature, but does not store the data on their server for you to download. It only works with the data you already have on your system.
If memory serves, TT does not provide historical backfill beyond maybe 2-3 days. If you need backfill, you would be better off with a data feed like DTN IQfeed which has many years of backfill for minute data, and 120 days or more of backfill for tick data.
There are also many threads in Elite section of futures.io (formerly BMT) where users have posted some of their data.
