that's what I meant to say. They want to sellshort and the only way to do so is for them to encourage "dumb money" into long positions which will reduce their slippage burden.....essentially they're creating share float.
Then, once they've decided they've taken as much profit as reasonably can be expected (for risk) they'll publish a report saying oil will continue South, that way when they go to buytocover, they have sufficient bearish pressure to reduce their burden again.
The only thing you can do with these large movers/shakers is look at their actual holdings, but alas, that's a quarter behind, so you're really looking at old news. You can't trust what they say, only what they do.
