I just want a simple 24h chart for the Euro, but I keep getting "incompatible session" across the title bar.
Also I am using a 4 renko chart which draws fine in real time, but it seems the after-hours (globex) times are re-drawn incorrectly on a chart refresh or exit/restart app (no wicks/tails, the high is wrong, etc). Am using IQfeed.
Can someone point me to a solution? I even tried making my own session for 6e, 5pm eastern close, 6pm eastern open sun-fri. Made no difference.
Are you referring to MD or IRT? If so you have to go into the that actual instrument settings and set up the session there also. I do not have my IRT open at the moment but I will open later and get precise details of where you should look
On your Qoute page you are using if you right-click on the insturment you are getting error on and select setup. On the setup menu you need to select the session you have just created for that instrument in the sessions field
BigMike, what hours did you set in your custom session for the Euro ?
On the CME web site you get these hours for the GLOBEX (ETH):
Sundays: 5:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. CT next day
What i find strange is the description they put in there: Monday – Friday: 5:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. CT the next day, except on Friday - closes at 4:00 p.m. and reopens Sunday at 5:00 p.m. CT.
The part i find strange is except on Friday - closes at 4:00 p.m. I don't see an exception there, do you ? It's the same hour as any other day.
Contrary to Ninja, you can't define a session template for each individual day so that if Sunday's open is different than on Monday and so on then you can't define that.
it closes every day at 4:00 pm and reopens at 5:00 pm "the same day". except on friday, it closes at 4:00 pm and does not reopen the same day, it opens on sunday at 5:00 pm. (because no trading saturday)
