MBF Clearing Corp has an internship program in NYC that I might be interested on applying to. It lasts 6 weeks in the summer, and it appears to be pretty good, and since I have 8 weeks of vacation per year I figure I apply for this coming summer as It is an opportunity to learn from a prop group headed by Mark Fisher. I would be curious to know if there is anyone here who has been a participant on the internship, or knows anyone who has, etc. I would be interested on gathering more details on the program.
I would be interested too, but I read on a trading forum that you would have to clerk for MBF/Mark for several years before being allowed to trade.
Mark did a presentation a few months back a Vegas Money Show where he focused more on spread trading and said if someone had 100k to risk come talk to them.
This is not a promo in anyway, but I believe Maverick Trading in Chicago uses Fisher's ACD, as he collaborated with Mark on some things.
I am big believer in modeling/NLP and studying under a winner gives you a much better chance to become one as opposed to reading, experimenting, and just going for it.
I am not really interested on trading his money; I am only interested on trading and growing my own account; and the account size is not an issue. I thought about opening an account with him but from everything I read online, that does not give me an edge on entering the intership, which is what I want: to get his intership for 6 weeks and learn all that I can and make new contacts. I can always get his research online.
What I am really interested on is hearing experiences about the program. I thought about just making a visit to his shop downtown, walk in there with my resume and plenty of humily and willingness to learn and see what happens; but not sure if that approach would work. He is no longer offering his seminars it seems like; and I dont have any contacts on my linked in network with relationships there. I am still trying to find ways as it appears no-one here has any information about the program.
I went to the moneyshow website and viewed the video from 9/24/2010 where Mark presented. What he stated was that anyone that was already successful with 100K account to come and talk to him if they wanted a 500K account backing. He was recruiting at the show for his prop desk.
I dont think that meant if you have $100K come and talk to him at all, but rather if you are consistenly profitable with $100K account and could provide a P&L, you would be able to join and instead of bringing in $2K+ a day, you could bring in $10K-20K+ a day with his backing.
He did made some very good points about trading arcades. Trading is a solitary sport when done remotely, and having contact with a group in real time to bounce ideas off is not a bad idea.
