I am an Ninjatrader user and was shocked to finally get confirmed that the system can't track strategy performance. I had assumed that the strategy tracking kept getting dropped after each time I restarted the software (I usually restart every couple of days whenever none of my algos have a live trade to keep it from bogging down) was because I was paper trading in the past as I tested the systems I had built.
But it turns out that they simply don't have this basic feature yet to track your strategies, it's in the queue to hopefully be built some day.
So I searched here and found a list of ideas for 3rd party software that might help. Some seem out of business, but several weren't. So I signed up for a few, most notably Tradervue, Antsignals, and Trademetria, but after setting them up it turns out that none of these allow ongoing tracking/reporting of even a small amount of strategies for free. $20-30/month seems like too much for me pay to fulfill the basic need I have which is to simply track the basic performance of my strategies.
Do folks have any other suggestions for other software that I can accomplish the most basic side of this task - just simple strategy name tracking without any fancy bells for free or nearly?
I've also thought of trying to continually consolidate excel spreadsheets, but I've only done this a few times and this idea feels fraught with peril somehow to get to keep working consistently. Does anyone do this as their ongoing method?
Your patience if this question is already framed like this somewhere, I didn't see it in past searches and I can't seem to get the search to work for me here today.
