Anyone who has taken TD Course and found it profitable. I have gone through his previous post on the forex factory and in here and seems he is getting 120-160 pips a month with his concept of 12 SL and 10 pip profit with the use volume profile.
His reviews are great but discord is dead. He hasn't published his recent monthly results for a long time.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
If you are using a tool such as market or volume profile you should aim for more than just a quick scalp of 10 ticks in my opinion. Not saying what he is doing is wrong but 10 ticks/trade you can achieve this with more simple tool.
@ibdabas
There is no mistery about MarketProfile/ VolumeProfile methodology.
Everything you need to know about it is in part available out there and at a cheaper price (basically 0) compared to courses. I've seen plenty of VP courses sold at extremely high prices.
This may be already helpful:
Steidlmayer on Markets: Trading with Market Profile.
Markets in Profile: Profiting from the Auction Process.
Keep in mind that Steidlmayer, who developed MP, back in 2011 already stated how MP/VP methodology was outdated. Imagine now.
He even tried to develop a new methodology: Volume Strips , but we didn't hear much about it, which underlines a failure.
ps: ask for account statements.
I took Trader Dale's Volume Profile and Order Flow courses and found them both to be excellent. I am new to trading so I haven't actually traded the methodologies. I'm just saying that I found the courses to be clear and had many examples. I also took the G7FX course which covers much of the same material but I found NV (instructor) to ramble on a bit too much for my liking. To me, it seems like Volume Profile and Order Flow are subjective methods, and difficult to implement.
I'm not sure but it appears to me that European traders favor volume profile and order flow whereas the US favors technical analysis. I haven't found any US instructors offering courses in VP and OF.
I would tend to agree with your statement. Many concepts have been published over the years about market profile but i have never been able to find an edge using them. The concept of unfinished business or poor high/low to name a few. If price revisit a poor or clean high, i just deal with it as a test of resistance. It is no more different than any other swing high on a 30 minute chart.
I have to agree with you on this one. I used the profile for some time on forex and in futures and the edge only worked some of the time. . Because of the popular use of the tool, it's probably not as affective anymore.
