Hi Bruce, I've been considering Bookmap for a few weeks now, and after attending the webinar this week, have decided to give it a go. I would like to begin by running Bookmap alongside the TWS charts I presently use from Interactive Brokers.
Although I dabble in some spreads and options trading, I mainly intraday and swing trade NYMEX Natural Gas and Crude Oil futures with IB on a MacBook Pro.
A few questions...
1. Can Bookmap run on a Mac using the IB data feed?
2. Will Bookmap run concurrently with TWS charts using a single IB data feed?
3. If the answer to question 2 is ‘yes’, would I have the option to execute trades from either Bookmap or TWS?
4. Could a third-party data feed be used to trade with Bookmap, while keeping IB as the broker, in order to achieve deeper and more accurate book data than what IB currently provides?
Hello: I watched the webby and it looks very interesting. Is there a market replay capability so that one could study the platform in action? I use market replay practically every day to go over my trades or just to observe how the market traded on a particular day. Thanks
Not Bruce, but I know Bookmap has replay.
Here's a video from a couple of years explaining the basic functionality then. I think the newer program versions may allow a download of data rather than needing sessions to have been recorded first before replaying that file.
You do not win as a trader, you just get to play again the next day. If that game doesn’t appeal to you then you should not trade. Gary Norden
