I contacted Investors Business daily today because I was thinking of trading their ETF methodology and also using the Market Pulse as a means to potentially time the market. Recently I had read some sites that did some backtesting on both the ETF system and the results from Market Pulse. It seems that IBD cherry picks time frames to make the results of their ETF system look good. So I needed to find out from them personally and asked them if they had a continuous track record of the ETF system and the market pulse signals. The short answer is "NO" and they do not offer out any continuous results.
So I told the guy that I guess if IBD had results that were good over a continuous period of time then I assume they would publish them instead of picking select periods that show good results. He became silent. I'm wondering has anyone had any long term results with either the ETF or Market pulse timing methodology ? The ETF system depends on the Market Pulse signals which seem to be curve fitted ? Any feed back would be appreciated.
Thank you
